This Privacy Policy explains how Sam Tuppen, a sole trader trading as Solpath ("Solpath", "we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you use our canvassing management platform and website at solpath.energy (the "Service"). We are the data controller for the account and website data described below. Where you use the Service to record information about members of the public, you are the controller of that data and we act as your processor.
Controller: Sam Tuppen, a sole trader trading as Solpath, 59 Lawrence Road, Southsea, Portsmouth PO5 1NU. Contact: sam@solpath.energy.
| Account & billing | Name, business name, email, phone, address, the plan you buy, and payment status. Card details are handled by Stripe — we never see or store full card numbers. |
| Usage & field data | Door-knocking outcomes, callbacks, notes, sign-ups and property details that you and your team enter into the Service, plus approximate canvasser location when the app is in use. |
| Website & technical | Pages visited, approximate analytics, device/browser information, and any details you submit through enquiry forms. |
The Service helps your team build walk lists from public data sources (the GOV.UK Energy Performance Certificate register and HM Land Registry price-paid data) and lets canvassers record outcomes and sign-ups at individual properties. Where this includes personal data about householders, the customer (the canvassing business) is the controller and is responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and use it. Solpath processes this data only to provide the Service, on the customer's instructions.
We use trusted providers ("processors") to run the Service, and share data with them only as needed:
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data where required by law.
Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent mechanisms.
We keep account and field data for as long as your account is active and for up to 12 months after it closes, after which we delete or anonymise it. Billing and tax records are kept for 6 years, as required by UK law.
We use access controls, encryption in transit, and per-organisation data separation so that one customer's data is not visible to another. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, email sam@solpath.energy. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
We use a small amount of essential and analytics data to keep the site working and understand usage.
We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above will change, and we will notify you of material changes.
Questions about your data: sam@solpath.energy.
